Program Description:

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Paris is one of the most exhilarating cities in the world and an exciting setting for study abroad. At NYU Paris, the city is your classroom. You'll acquire or improve your French language skills while exploring the art, literature, politics, and history of this unparalleled city.

The NYU Center in Paris is located on the Right Bank near the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero. Courses are available at the NYU Center, at the University of Paris, and at the Institut d'Études Politiques. All students take a required workshop in French Language and Culture, which is an intensive two-week, 0-2 credit French class at the start of the program and continue to study French for the rest of the semester. All courses maintain a tight focus on France - it's history, politics, literature, and arts - and are offered in both French and English. The wealth of in-class and extra-curricular cultural activities allow for a truly engaging experience.

Important Notes:

LMU students may study on programs that are not administered directly by our institution.  This study abroad program is an example of an approved Non-LMU program.  If a student chooses to study abroad on one of the approved Non-LMU programs, they must follow the below administrative procedure.

  • Schedule an advising appointment with the Study Abroad Coordinator who advises for Non-LMU programs

  • Complete a Study Abroad Application for Non-LMU programs by the deadline.  Students will go through the Transfer of Credit Approval (TCA) process to determine how the courses will transfer towards their degree as part of their Study Abroad Application. This is in addition to the host institution/organization application materials a student must submit directly to the host institution/organization.

  • Students are strongly encouraged to speak with their departmental advisor about their study abroad plans and discuss how it fits with their academic plan.

Students who do not complete the above full administrative procedure starting with the Study Abroad office will not be approved to receive Academic Credit for their Study Abroad program.

You can find a complete list of courses available on this program on the host university website.
