Program Description:
Gabelli Business in London

Whether you choose a spring, summer or fall semester, you’ll have access to Gabelli School courses taught from a U.K. perspective—each designed to meet your specific Fordham degree requirements while strengthening your understanding of doing business in Europe. Your out-of-class hours will be just as valuable. Spend a Saturday at the British Museum. Walk along the Thames. Get tickets to a play in the famous West End. And if you want to travel, continental Europe is at your fingertips: Flights from London to Amsterdam, Brussels or Paris are about an hour, gate to gate.
Studying abroad can expand your circle of relationships and ideas, move you closer to your academic goals and maybe inspire you to set new ones. No matter what your business area of focus, a study-abroad experience with the Gabelli School in London is an ideal way to fulfill course requirements, build your résumé, and have experiences that your classmates who stay home certainly won’t be having.

Today’s businesses are rapidly altering their strategies to adapt to changes in international markets, especially in Europe, and their actions are reconfiguring the U.S. economy. Learning business in a European commercial capital can give you a significant edge over your peers in the eyes of employers. The Gabelli School of Business program in London gives you that edge: fall, spring or summer. Take courses that fulfill core and major requirements.

This program is limited to Business Majors ONLY.

Situated in one of London’s most beautiful residential areas, Kensington Square which is within walking distance of the museums in South Kensington as well as the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Fordham’s premises here include spacious studio spaces/classrooms, a library/seminar room, and a number of smaller study spaces as well as the administrative offices of the London Centre. Participants in Fordham’s study abroad programs are entitled to full use of the on-campus dining hall, the student lounge, and the splendid gardens. All program participants are housed in student flats conveniently located in residential neighborhoods within an easy commute to the Center.

Few locations in Europe rival London as a place to study world business. The Gabelli School allows you to complete your Fordham coursework in this European commercial center.  Students who choose a term abroad in London might:
  • Visit the headquarters of Jaguar and Barclays Bank
  • Hold an internship at a London office of a Big Four accounting firm
  • Undertake a global study of social entrepreneurship

The Gabelli School in London gives students an advanced socioeconomic understanding of business in the U.K. and Europe through coursework, corporate visits and cultural excursions. Accounting, marketing, finance and other disciplines get a fresh context in Europe.  You will learn business in a European commercial capital while fulfilling your core and major requirements. You will learn from British executives and professors and take your learning outside of the classroom by visiting the headquarters of various U.K. businesses.  Past business visits have included Aston Martin and the Chelsea Football Club.

All of our housing is centrally located within London, in areas with shops and transportation and within reach of city attractions. Each day, you wake up a few blocks from the Thames River. You have breakfast with your classmates in your flat, then ride the Tube to Kensington High Street, where Fordham classes occupy a suite of rooms within the University of London’s historic Heythrop College. Picking up a coffee at Whole Foods, located two minutes outside campus, you walk through the garden and into your first class of the day. This is the life that awaits you in London.
